How To Personalize Die-Cuts Using "Harvey" By Tim Holtz & Sizzix

 Hello!

Hope you had a great Thanksgiving!  Here's "Harvey" dressed up as a member of "The Best Damn Band In The Land! (aka "TBDBITL" pronounced Tuh-Bit-UL.)  The full YouTube tutorial is linked below as well as most of the products *AFIL-Thank you so much for your support!*

The inspiration for Harvey is all around me as my son Taylor "Beans" was a member for 5 years!

I wasn't going for perfect because there were too many tiny details (I skipped the white spats too- claiming "artistic license" LOL!)

This reminded me of playing with paper dolls as a child (minus the tiny white tab we folded to keep the clothes on the doll!)  I hope you enjoy the tutorial and give this a try... perhaps you have a family member in a band, armed forces, a chef... anything where they wear a uniform!

Quick Tips: Layering & Repurposing Diecut Tricks (Actually, Treats!)

Hello!  Happy World Cardmaking Day!

Well, it's Fall here in Central Ohio and my favorite season.  I'd love it more if it didn't mean Winter was right behind it.  Oh, the dread!!  But for now, I will enjoy all the things!

Last year I bought the Pumpkin Patch set (all materials linked below...AFIL, thank you!!) However, time got away from me and Halloween came and went.  I don't send many Halloween card, but they are fun to make!   Do you send them?

From Trash To Treasure!! Don't Throw Away Those Mistakes! SCWABNH September Challenge--Die-Lightful!

Hello!

The main components of this card were actually going in the trash because they weren't perfectly heat embossed (sometimes I get in a hurry and forget the anti-static powder or I missed inking a spot.:(

Well, sometimes you can make lemonade out of lemons...I usually at least try using the back unless it got inky or something.  I diecut the poinsettia out of scrap red card stock, some of which had the Holiday Foliage Bold stamp embossed in gold powder.  I also made a center with a tiny piece of gold mirror card stock.  I carefully tore a messed up Bold Script background (toward myself to get the blank edge--tear away from yourself if you want the opposite effect) at the top and bottom, then lightly lined with a gold marker (supplies linked below AFIL-Thank you!)

Next, I tore a scrap of the same color (but not necessarily the same shade) red card stock to layer the first piece on and tore it as well, also using the gold marker.

That's it, just added a stacked up Joy diecut and layered on an A2 horizontal card base.  Not hard and mostly made from scraps!

"Happy Mail!"--Inspiration For The "Stay Crafty With A Blog Named Hero" September Die Cut Challenge!

It's really satisfying to use up scraps and/or extra diecuts you have laying around to make a quick 'n easy card (well maybe not quick in this case...)  The full YT tutorial is linked below, as well as the supplies I used in case you are interested (AFIL- Thank you for your support because I buy my own supplies!:)  

Here is my project featuring the Hero Arts Mailbox Fancy Die.

It's kind of early for me to think about snow (it's about 90 degrees right now!)  I'm also not a huge fan of more than a window-dressing flutter on Christmas Day, but it's fun to mix supplies to get that look!  I will also link a previously popular tutorial discussing ways to add snow!

DCD's 2022 Ohio Stamp Junkie "Background Bowl" Challenge! (and Giveaways!)

 Hello!

The Ohio Stamp Junkies recently met for a "mega-meet-up" and it was one none of us will ever forget!  There were tons of prizes, snacks, make'n takes, snacks, contests, lunch, chatting, laughing and more snacks all while "a river ran through it!"  It didn't just rain...it poured and rained sideways getting a lot of stuff dampened, but not our crafty spirits!

I had to dry out everything in my swag bag (which was packed with wonderful supplies donated by many of our favorite shops.)  My patterned paper pack sat under my Gemini Jr. for weeks, but it's still not quite flat:(

But I digress... I asked for brave souls willing to take a random background that may not have been finished or even pretty and make art with it.  They knocked it out of the park again, like I knew they would!  I had a participant drawing for a gift card from Pear Blossom Press (Winner Claire Lamb!) and am having an additional drawing from the YouTube comments for a fun prize package (USA) or a gift certificate (if non-USA.)

Light-Up Cupcake Card With Pear Blossom Press!!

 Hello!

Never Give Up! Never Surrender!! Bubbles Shaker Card Journey

How To Use Stencil/Foil Sets & Are They Worth It?

Hello!  

Happy Spring (at least in North America:)  It snowed yesterday here in Ohio, so I'm not rid of Winter yet!  

I've had this Altenew Exotic Tulips set on my desk forever and really wanted to use it.  I also have the masking stencils and can see where they could come in handy!  I had only a general plan, which was good, because the card took on a life of it's own through various boo boo's etc!

Glittery 'N Grungy Gladys The Flamingo!

How To Make A Card With Lights And Fun Texture!
