Hello!  

Thank you so much for stopping by!  I'm sure you've seen the horrifying images on TV of the wildfire damage in Australia.  There are many lost human lives and homes as well the loss of a half Billion (with a B) animals, birds and more, along with their habitats.

There are also many word die cuts such as hugs, hope, prayers!

The generous folks at Scrapbook.com have put together a wonderful package of SVG files full of lovely, delicate images for their affiliates so we can help raise money to help out the relief effort.  All of the proceeds (my link is for tracking, I will not make a penny:) plus additional funds from Scrapbook.com will go to the Australian Red Cross.  It's only $5, so even if you currently don't have an electronic cutting machine (the files will be there for you when you get one LOL!) please consider it a donation to a worthy cause.

The files are immediately downloadable and work with all the popular electronic cutters.  Mine happens to be a Scan 'n Cut 350.  Though I actually had it out of the box, LOL, it has been sitting on a counter for a couple years.  This inspired me to learn a little more on how to use it other than just for cutting around stamped images.  I'm making it a goal to learn more as the possibilities are endless!

I didn't do a tutorial because I wanted to keep this short and most of the stuff I used actually came from a box 'o backgrounds that I keep around because I tend to go a bit overboard when I make them!  I explain what I did in the video.

Things Are Poppin' At The 'Creek---"A Blog Named Hero January Challenge "Anything Goes!"

Man, oh man was I in a pickle today.  Nothing was going right...couldn't find things, buggered up stuff, tripped on cords, lighting wasn't great..blah, blah... so I apologize for the photos, but the project is still really fun using the Hero Arts Paper Layering Present Gift Card Pop-Up Fancy Die (that is officially the longest name I've ever typed for a supply!)  They are linked below (afil--thank you for your support!)

Here is the project holding the gift card:

 I sprayed Dove White paper with a rainbow of Distress Oxide Sprays.  The die is on the left side of the photo.   All you do is line up those edge lines on the fold of your card.  The edge lines are really obvious.  Easy peasey! 

You will need to attach it to a card base to avoid having a hole:)  Glue the diecut section to your card base except for the pieces of the package and bow.   I covered the gift with pattern paper and some Hero Arts card stock.

I added a sentiment and viola... we have a gift card holder!

I Was Wowed! Sometimes The Best Projects Are Spontaneous!

I'm so glad to be back crafting!  I had written plans and got out all the necessary inks and supplies, only to throw the whole thing out the window when I started this project.  The link for the Youtube tutorial with complete instructions is below.

I got out my new silver sparkle alcohol ink paper, clear embossing powder and the Hero Arts "Bursting With Love" stamp thinking I would use colorful alcohol inks and play.  I know that matte silver card stock embossed with clear can look like etching, but past attempts with other papers weren't great.  I wasn't even shooting for this outcome.  However, when I started heating up this project, HOLY COW!!  It looks like an etched trophy plaque! 

I wanted to keep it simple to show off the shine while adding a smidge of color.  So I used an alcohol marker to color in a few hearts and coated with Glossy Accents for dimension.

I decided to be consistent with the sentiment strip.  To set it off I popped it up on some metallic vellum and wrapped it around Pebble Gray card stock, then attached to a heavy card base.

I know I will come back to this technique often, especially for weddings and anniversaries!  I hope you will try it!
