Easy Vellum Copic Coloring-- "A Blog Named Hero's" 9th Anniversary Celebration!

 Hello again!

In April, "A Blog Named Hero" turns 9!  I'm so happy to be in my third year of participating to inspire folks to create and enter our monthly challenges!

April's challenge is anniversary cards.  Here's an "old-timey" way to use vellum that is very forgiving for us coloring-challenged folks.

The supplies are linked below (AFIL-thank you!)  I started with a piece of Hero Arts heavy vellum and heat embossed the image.

Next, I flipped it over and colored it on the back.  This is great as it's not a big deal to stay within the lines.  You must use alcohol inks for it to dry.  They are easy to blend on this slick surface too!

Since even the clearest of glues may show through the vellum, I folded it over the top of a metallic silver background and glued it.  Then I glued that panel to a top folding card that is larger than I normally do--approximately an A7 (ish).  I will have to make an envelope to send it, but I hated to cut off any of the flowers!

Stay tuned to Instagram (I'm @darbycreekdiaries if you'd like to follow me) as April 1st and 2nd we are having a giveaway hop with tons of Hero Arts folks participating!  Then we'll have another giveaway as usual with the anniversary themed challenge on the blog.

Supply list--

Take care, Happy Spring and I'll see you again soon!

How To Make A Super Sparkly Simple Card!--Cards by Maaike 3000th Subscriber Hop

Hello and Welcome!!

Today we are celebrating "Cards By Maaike's" 3000th YouTube subscriber hop!  One of the wonderful things about this industry is there is room for everyone to have success and we all support and celebrate achievements!  I'm excited to be nearing my 1000th subscribers on my channel (especially since I've only been doing this about a year and a half!)

The theme for the hop is appropriately "friendship."  My project is about friends sharing a sundae:)  I used Copic markers on micro fine glitter paper outlined with Krazy Kreations outline stickers.  Most of the supplies are linked (afil) below, although some are simular, but not exact.  I'm not affiliated with anyone who sells Krazy Kreations black outline stickers, but I wanted to share them as they are inexpensive, quick and fun!  (I found them while I was on vacation.)  I'm giving away two sets to one lucky winner.  Instructions to enter are on my YouTube tutorial below:

(I hope you will consider subscribing & hitting that bell for new upload notices:)

Here is a close up view--look how sparkly!!

Here is the first card I made with the stickers...

The next stop on the hop is Monica Monge Taylor
If you get lost, go to Maaike's Channel for a complete list of stops.

Here is my supply list (afil):

Click on KrazyKreations.com if you are searching for the original micro glitter paper or outline stickers.

Once again, congratulations Maaike!  Come back 4/6 for my first "A Blog Named Hero" Facebook page project combined with three product reviews!

Until next time,
Gale
